About Catherine Morgan Durkee

She grew up in Washington, DC, in a diplomatic community and attended National Cathedral School for Girls. After a semester in Lugano, Switzerland, Catherine graduated in 1987 magna cum laude from Harvard University in History and Government (H/R Class of 1986) and holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. Prior to joining Engel & Völkers, Catherine worked in investment banking for Lazard Freres in Frankfurt, Deutsche Handelsbank AG in Berlin, and for JPMorgan Chase in New York City.

 

In the late 1990s, Catherine owned and ran Durkee Capital Advisors, a Boston and then Austin, Texas-based commodity trading advisor. Fluent in German and French, Catherine calls Vienna her second home and adores the Winter Ball Season as well as the Spanish Riding School, home of the Lipizzaners. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the yachting capital of the world, Catherine enjoys international boat shows, regattas, and America's Cup, showjumping and polo, Formula 1, and Professional Bull Riding.

 

An avid tennis player, Catherine competes in the US and Europe in USTA and ITF masters tournaments, attends Grand Slam and major Open events and is the Tennis Specialist for the Engel & Völkers Professional Athlete Advisory Group. With a diverse background as well as international reach, Catherine is thrilled and honored to help individuals and families from all corners of the world find their dream home!
